AoS Maggotkin of Nurgle: Putrid Blightkings

If you want to expand your Maggotkin of Nurgle with a durable melee unit, the Putrid Blightkings are a very fitting choice. This Warhammer Age of Sigmar set adds five multipart plastic miniatures to your army and gives you enough flexibility for different poses and equipment options. Especially if you are not simply looking for another troop set, but for a unit with a clear faction identity, the Putrid Blightkings fit well into a Nurgle project. For gaming, your Collection, and painting, this is a unit that immediately looks like Maggotkin.

For many buyers, this type of box is particularly appealing when they want to build their army around a clearly defined elite unit rather than individual models. The Putrid Blightkings are useful if you are planning a thematic Maggotkin of Nurgle army and value a unit that makes its presence felt on the table. The set also makes sense as a hobby project, as you can build and customize several models in one go. Anyone who would rather add a visible reinforcement to their army directly is often better served by a box like this than by individual character models.

For many collectors, Maggotkin of Nurgle is about more than the miniature itself; it is also about the cohesive look of the entire faction. Putrid Blightkings fit perfectly into this type of Collection because they strongly convey Nurgle's dark, rotten aesthetic. If you organize armies by faction or want to create a consistent theme in your display cabinet, a unit like this offers you more than just a random single model. The set is also appealing as a building block for a growing Age of Sigmar Collection, as it fits clearly into an existing Nurgle display.

Players looking to supplement their Maggotkin of Nurgle with a sturdy unit will find the Putrid Blightkings a set that fits well into a close-combat strategy. The five models are designed as a cohesive group and help you build your army's identity not only through heroes but also through a durable unit. Especially if you play Age of Sigmar actively rather than simply collecting individual miniatures, such a box is practical because it immediately provides several models for your roster and painting. This makes getting started with a Nurgle army project much more straightforward.

What makes the Putrid Blightkings special is their clear affiliation with Maggotkin of Nurgle. Those who specifically collect this faction are often looking for more than just powerful miniatures, but for models that fit together visually and thematically. That is exactly what this set is designed for. It integrates well into armies that already consist of Nurgle models and can also serve as the next logical step if you want to build your Collection gradually rather than all at once. This makes the overall look much more cohesive later on.

For miniatures such as the Putrid Blightkings, the card language is not the main focus, but buyers still often pay attention to the exact product name and its faction affiliation. Especially in the hobby sector, it is helpful to immediately recognize when purchasing whether you have the correct Nurgle set in front of you and can neatly organize it in your Collection. Anyone who collects multiple armies or factions rarely wants to have to guess when making a selection. A clear product name makes it easier to assign the set directly to the right project and find it again later.

If you're torn between a unit and a single hero, the comparison makes the decision fairly quickly. The Putrid Blightkings give you five models at once, making them better suited to army building, the battlefield, and cohesive painting projects. A character model is often the better choice when you're specifically looking for a leader. Here, by contrast, you get more presence per box and a unit that stands out much more clearly as part of an existing Maggotkin of Nurgle army. For many Players, that's exactly the deciding difference.

The Putrid Blightkings are especially suited to buyers who want to get started with building right away. As an originally packaged set, it can also be set aside for a future hobby project if you are currently painting other units first or your army planning is still undecided. For a Sealed collection, it is particularly interesting if you are specifically collecting Maggotkin of Nurgle and want to keep the boxes in their thematic order. Anyone who prefers to start building immediately will find a set here that is ready for the painting table without any detours.
