AoS Slaves to Darkness: Be'Lakor The Dark Master

Be'Lakor The Dark Master is a large character miniature for the Slaves to Darkness in Warhammer Age of Sigmar. It is designed as a multi-part plastic kit and serves primarily as a central focal point in a Chaos army. If you want to expand your Collection or list with a particularly striking figure, Be'Lakor is a fitting choice. The model is interesting for Players, Collectors, and painters because it is not just a regular unit but brings a significantly stronger presence.

For both, but for different reasons. Players often use Be'Lakor as a central figure because he gives the army visual weight and stands out clearly from smaller models. Collectors appreciate the miniature because it is an iconic Chaos model that immediately stands out in a Slaves to Darkness Collection. If you want to not only play Warhammer Age of Sigmar but also build a focused Collection, this kit is a great fit. Especially with character models like this, the line between game and display case is often blurred.

Yes, many Collectors do this with larger character miniatures. If you don't want to build Be'Lakor right away, you can keep him in his original packaging as part of your Warhammer Collection and decide later whether to use him as a hobby project. This is especially useful if you specifically collect Chaos models or are working towards a particular army project. The important thing is to clarify before purchasing whether you are looking for a model to build and paint or more for the Collection.

The kit is multi-part and therefore more of a classic hobby project than a quick snap-together model. This is exactly the appeal for many buyers, as it allows you to consciously assemble and design the figure. If you enjoy assembling and painting miniatures, Be'Lakor offers enough detail and presence to make it worth your time. The model is manageable for Beginners, but it makes more sense if you already have some experience with larger Warhammer figures or are interested in a more challenging project.

Yes, that is exactly what he is intended for. Be'Lakor complements a Slaves to Darkness army very well because he clearly embodies the dark Chaos aesthetic and brings a lot of presence as a central figure. If you don’t want to build your list with just standard troops, a model like this is especially exciting. Many Players specifically look for a miniature that visually ties the army together, and Be'Lakor does this very well. Anyone who seriously collects Chaos in Age of Sigmar often looks first at such key models.

The biggest difference lies in presence and impact. A regular character miniature usually complements a unit or takes on a clear game role, while Be'Lakor is primarily perceived as a central model. This makes him interesting for Players who want to visually enhance their Chaos army and for Collectors looking for a special figure. If you only need a functional model, a smaller hero is often sufficient. But if you are looking for a real highlight for your Collection, Be'Lakor is definitely more impressive.

Yes, very much so. Due to its size, clear silhouette, and many visible details, Be'Lakor is a model that is great for demonstrating painting techniques. If you enjoy painting a striking single model, this provides a strong template for contrasts, shadows, and highlights. This is especially worthwhile if you don’t just want to quickly finish a Tabletop model, but are looking for a project that will truly stand out in your display case later. For many hobbyists, this is exactly the main reason to buy such figures.

It entirely depends on your goal. If you want to deliberately build a Chaos Collection and plan to use the kit later, you can keep it Sealed. However, if you are specifically working on a Slaves to Darkness army or looking for a large painting project, opening it is usually the more sensible option. Be'Lakor is especially appealing if you really want to integrate him into your army or Collection. For pure Sealed Collections, he is interesting if you want to archive exactly such central Warhammer models.
